That depends on the position and the culture
of the company.
For a professional opportunity such as an executive
or managerial position, business professional attire
is generally still appropriate. For men, this means
a suit (matching jacket and slacks, or occasionally
a sports coat with slacks), dress shirt, tie, and dress
shoes with socks. For women, this means a suit (coordinated
jacket and skirt/slacks) or a conservatively styled
dress, with nylon stockings and closed toe/heel shoes.
For most other positions, dressier business
casual attire is often appropriate. For men, this means
a nice pair of pants (slacks, khakis, Dockers), a shirt
with a collar, perhaps a tie, and dress shoes with socks.
For women, this means a conservatively styled dress,
slacks with a blouse and blazer, or skirt with a blouse
and blazer; plus stockings or socks and closed toe/heel
shoes.
If you have an opportunity to discretely visit
the company before your interview, then this will help
you to identify appropriate dress for the company's
culture. For the first interview, we recommend that
a candidate wear just slightly more dressy attire than
those with whom one will be interviewing.
